 After leaving Leeds Music College Chris became a session keyboard player and arranger with bands including The Johnny Mars Blues Band and Forcefield with Cozy Powell, Jan Akkerman, Ray Fenwick and Graham Bonet; as well as writing songs and horn and string arrangments for various record companies and publishing houses including Genie, Peer Southern and The Really Useful Group. Since 1986 he has largely concentrated upon establishing an international reputation as one of the best programmers/music editors working in film and television soundtrack music production, contributing original music cues when requested. Chris has acted as music editor/Auricle consultant and synth/computer programmer on more than 120 feature films from major Hollywood studios including Dreamworks, Warner Bros, Disney, Paramount, Universal, United Artists and HBO, with regular appearances in the top ten movies listing charts on both sides of the Atlantic from Variety and Screen International.
Chris has also met with international success producing over 130 instrumental albums for EMI and Demon as well as 'library' albums for Music House and Amphonic amongst others. He has been awarded both gold and silver album awards for sales from the BPI. He has also worked on many rock sessions including tracks for Terry Britten, John Parr, Harry Nilsson, Francis Rossi and on innumerable occasions has contributed songs for various projects.
Having completed the final part of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy for Peter Jackson - Chris was one of the few to work on all three parts including the extended versions - Chris continues to work in film but has also taken some time out to develop his own projects. One of these was the development of this site, another was to record and update his catalogue of songs and instrumental pieces and another was 'He's Alive!' - a mini musical for children based on the story of Easter which had its premier at Easter 2006. As a composer he has two musicals currently in progress – Shaka Zulu written with Mike Hurst and Facades written with Alan Attfield. Recent films include Amazing Grace with a score by David Arnold, The Lake House with a score by Rachel Portman and the forthcoming 'Infamous' which stars Daniel Craig - the new James Bond.
